4 Bed Guest House Under Offer

The Old Co-op is a luxurious Bed and Breakfast nestling on the edge of dramatic Yorkshire Pennine countryside in the idyllic village of Thurstonland. The village is near Holmfirth and the University town of Huddersfield. Offered for sale by our clients due to their retirement after approximately 17 years, during which time they have built up an excellent guest base and received many outstanding reviews.
The house lends itself perfectly to combining the Bed and Breakfast business with home life as the guest bedrooms and the owners bedrooms are served by two separate staircases.

Thurstonland is a delightful Pennine village with an excellent community spirit. There is a Church of England Endowed Primary/Junior School, a church, a good pub and a thriving cricket club, all adding to the appeal of this beautiful rural locale.
The area is both popular for both walkers and cyclists due to the spectacular local countryside. The Tour de France and The Tour de Yorkshire having passed close to the village in recent years makes Thurstonland an added attraction for cyclists.
Formerly two cottages, the property offers easy to move into accommodation, with excellent separate guest and owner facilities. It has an established south facing garden, a driveway for 3 cars and an attached double garage.
There is a welcoming and practical hall with stone flagged flooring, leading to a spacious dining room with stripped pine floors, exposed beams and a wood burning stove.
The staircase from the dining room leads to the guest first floor accommodation. There are two very comfortable and peaceful double bedrooms, one en-suite the other with its own private bathroom. The rooms have pleasant views over open countryside.
The kitchen is very well appointed with a range of units and integral appliances plus a range cooker making it ideal for the preparation of B&B guest breakfasts.
From the dining room there is an inner hallway, beautiful through lounge with a solid fuel stove, utility room, WC and cellar.
The second staircase from the inner hall serves the master bedroom and bedroom 4 which have a connecting ‘jack and Jill’ shower room. Bedroom 4 is presently used as an office by our clients.
The gardens are a delight. South facing at the rear, there is a paved patio and lawn with established plants, trees and shrubs together with a gated side garden area with mature trees, flowerbeds and shrubs. The double garage has a remote controlled garage door, power, light and water supply and side door.
