The Homes Act - how it affects Landlords

The Homes Act 2018 came into force today; meaning that landlords are no longer allowed to rent rogue properties to tenants.

There has been a campaign in recent years by lobbyists and politicians to improve the quality of property available in the private rented sector and this has led to new legislation.

Not only does it meant that properties have to meet minimum standards of safety and security, it also means that landlords can be prosecuted for failing to meet these minimum standards.
